In celebration of the Web 2.0 Summit (co-produced by O'Reilly Media and Techweb, in association with Federated Media) we proudly present the Web2 Debrief.  Expect an evening of great conversation, fine cocktails and plenty of good hors d'oeuvres.

After catching their breath (briefly), conference Hosts John Battelle and Tim O'Reilly will take the stage to digest, discuss and debrief about the previous three days and what it all means.

BIOS

John Battelle is Chairman, CEO and Founder of Federated Media Publishing, as well as an author and journalist. He has been a visiting professor of journalism at the University of California, Berkeley and also maintains Searchblog, a weblog covering technology, culture, and media.

Battelle is one of the original founders of Wired magazine and the founder of The Industry Standard magazine and website.  He studied at UC Berkeley, earning both a B.A. in Anthropology and a Masters in Journalism.  In 2004, Battelle with Tim O'Reilly founded the annual Web 2.0 Summit, where he remains Program Chair and Executive Producer.  In 2005, he published The Search: How Google and Its Rivals Rewrote the Rules of Business and Transformed Our Culture, an international best seller in 26 languages.  His company was named 2009 Publisher of the Year by Razorfish, placed on Adweek’s 2009 Digital Hotlist, and received the 2010 Sales Excellence Award from the IAB. 

Tim O'Reilly is the founder and CEO of O'Reilly Media, Inc., thought by many to be the best computer book publisher in the world.  In addition to Foo Camps ("Friends of O'Reilly" Camps, which gave rise to the "un-conference" movement), O'Reilly Media also hosts conferences on technology topics, including the Web 2.0 Summit, the Web 2.0 Expo and the O'Reilly Open Source Convention. Tim's blog, the O'Reilly Radar, "watches the alpha geeks" to determine emerging technology trends, and serves as a platform for advocacy about issues of importance to the technical community. Tim's long-term vision for his company is to change the world by spreading the knowledge of innovators.  In addition to O'Reilly Media, Tim is a founder of Safari Books Online, a pioneering subscription service for accessing books online, and O'Reilly AlphaTech Ventures, an early-stage venture firm.
